Not Finished

In the Film ‘The Silver Linings Playbook’, Directed by David O. Russell there are many principal moments that develop the movie, however, I found one scene to be particularly important. At the beginning of the film Director, O. Russell used Handle Held Shot, where we are introduced to the main character named Pat Solitano talking about how he loves Sundays. At this moment Director O. Russell uses the aspects of lighting and close-up techniques which are paired effectively in the opening scene. Making the Viewers' perspective on Pat Unstable, Intense, and fast. Director O. Russell effectively made the viewers feel anxious and uneasy about what to come next by adding these aspects along with the editing effectively. In addition, we see how effective the Director uses Lighting when we see Pat, in the beginning, talking to himself next to the window, in this moment Director uses a close-up shot along with the aspect of lighting to catch Pat's facial expression, his facial expression alone can make the viewers feel that he is bossy and think that he is focused on himself and regarding when he said “yeah ill be there in a minute okay? I’ll be there in a minute,” is to intimidate the viewers that he has anger issues. But at this moment the viewers don’t know much about Pat yet. The main purpose of this scene is to further reveal that Pat’s in his own Bedroom, Alone, and in a Mental Hospital and to illustrate to the viewers that Pat is the main character in the movie.
