Music Reflection

 Music Reflection

* What have you enjoyed about music this year?
- I've enjoyed the things we did, performing, playing an instrument, listening to other's performances. Although I'm not doing Music next year; I might change.  I enjoyed spending time making our own kind of music and I think my other classmates did too. and our Teacher is so Supportive she'd help you with your tuning, ideas about performing, giving confidence. And not grumpy which is what any students want.

* What has been your favourite task and why?
Hamilton was my favorite task. We were divided into a group of girls versus boys singing and we've memorized the song. And the other one is the first time I've performed music which is the one I wouldn't forget I was doing Piano solo and it was fun.

* Did you complete a class performance? Why not?
The last performance we didn't perform Because we didn't really have the enthusiasm for doing it maybe because we were tired but we did perform heaps before and it was fun

* Is there anything you did not have the opportunity to do/Learn?
Nothing much. I can say the thing that I haven't really learned other instruments like Guitar. I wanna learn guitar because My father and two Brother's learned how to play it and even my grand father knows which makes me think I'm hopeless haha

Kiwi Saver Advertisement

ANZ NZ 'very sorry' as FMA takes it to court for allegedly charging some customers for credit card repayment insurance policies that offered those customers no cover | interest.co.nz

How does Kiwi Saver Work?

Kiwi Saver is a voluntary savings scheme set up by the government to help New Zealanders to save for their retirement. You can choose to contribute 3%, 4%, 6%, 8% or 10% of your gross (before tax) wage or salary to our Kiwis saver account. … Your savings are invested on your behalf by the Kiwi Saver provider of your choice.

What Happens if you retire

Many Kiwi Saver providers will let you remain in their Kiwi Saver Scheme and continue to manage your money for you even if you are eligible to withdraw – so although you won't receive any member tax credits, you can continue to save. … You may also be able to consolidate any other retirement savings into the same account.

Time Frame to their retirement

You can access your Kiwi Saver savings at the age of 65. Once you’ve reached the age of 65 you can opt out of this requirement and make a partial or full withdrawal, however if you do so you will forego your entitlement to the Government contribution and compulsory employer contributions.

How much Money to invest

When you join Kiwi Saver, you either pick a fund you want to invest in, or if you can't decide, the IRD picks one for you. After that, your employer must contribute the value of 3% of your gross salary into your Kiwi Saver fund. You will also have to contribute at least 3% of the gross amount.

How much Money do they want to pay management fees

Key Takeaways. The average fee for a financial advisor's services is 1.02% of assets under management (AUM) annually for an account of $1 million. An actively-managed portfolio usually involves a team of investment professionals buying and selling holdings–leading to higher fees.

What are six types of eruption

  1. *Icelandic
The ice-covered Grímsvötn volcano produced an unusually large and powerful eruption in 2011. Now, says this volcanologist, there are clear signs that Grímsvötn is getting ready to erupt again.

Why does Iceland have so many volcanoes?
- Lies beneath the surface Iceland is located on a hot spot or mantle plume, Where magma is especially close to the surface, which explains why land formed in this spot in the middle of the ocean, and not elsewhere along the tectonic ridge.

  1. *Hawaiian
Kilauea is an active shield volcano in the Hawaiian Islands that last erupted between 1983 and 2018.
Kīlauea - Wikipedia

What Does Kilauea Mean?
The Hawaiian name Kilauea means "spewing" or "much spreading". refers to the constant flow of lava. Kilauea lies on the curve of volcanoes on the island of Hawaii that includes Mauna Loa and Kohala. volcano of Kilauea is one of the youngest and also is said to be the home of an ancient volcano goddess Pele.

                *Strombolian
A Strombolian eruption is a type of volcanic eruption with relatively mild blasts, having a volcanic explosivity index of about 1 to 3.

  1. *Vulcanian
A Vulcanian eruption is a type of volcanic eruption characterized by a dense cloud of ash-laden gas exploding from the crater and rising high above the peak.
Volcanoes
  1. *Pelean
Peléan eruptions are a type of volcanic eruption. They can occur when viscous magma, typically of rhyolitic or andesitic type, is involved, and share some similarities with Vulcanian eruptions.

Tsunami and Surf

Tsunamis and waves are both water waves. they are a mode of energy transfer and can be described by their wavelength, speed, Frequency, period, amlitude (height), and energy.  As waves behave they can be reflected and two waves can interfere with each other.

Tsunamis have more energy than surf wave, so they last for longer and are much faster. The shape of the two waves is also completely different.

Igneous Rocks

Igneous Rocks: How Are They Formed?

Igneous Rocks. Also known as "Fire Rock" these type of rock are the most common rock on the earth's surface

Igneous Rocks form from the solidification of Magma, which is hot (600 to 1,300 °C, or 1,100 to 2,400 °F) molten or partially molten rock material and solidifies. The melt originates deep within the Earth near active plate boundaries or hot pots, then rises toward the surface.

Metamorphic rocks

Metamorphic rocks form when rocks put through to high heat, high pressure, hot mineral-rich fluids or, common conditions like these factors are found deep within the Earth or where tectonic plates meet.

How are they form
- Metamorphic rocks do not melt. Metamorphic rocks Transform them into murky, more compact rocks. New minerals are created by rearranging of mineral components. Metamorphic rocks are often squished, smeared out, and folded.

* Metamorphic rocks are formed by the effect of heat and pressure on existing rocks
*This can greatly affect the hardness, texture, or layer patterns of the rocks

Rock Types in NZ

New Zealand's Rocks

NZ geology

New Zealand rocks are mainly mapped in terms of their age of formation and their rock type. In addition, the older rocks that form New Zealand’s geological basement are also divided in terms of their position relative to an ancient, now inactive tectonic plate boundary that bisects South Island and North Island. This boundary formed along the edge of Gondwanaland. The rock divisions, therefore, have overlapping ages.

  • main geological rock types in New Zealand:
  • *Youngest sediments.
  • *Young volcanic rocks.
  • *Sedimentary cover rocks.
  • *Eastern greywacke basement.
  • *Eastern schist basement.
  • *Central volcanic sedimentary basement.
  • *Western metamorphic and sedimentary basement.
  • *Granite and other intrusives.

Market-day

Market day

What Worked well?
Strengths

- Everyone cooperated on what their supposed to do.

- we were on a great spot as heaps of people were buying our product.

- No one was absent from our team.

What Didn't worked well?
(Weaknesses)

- We haven't made a poster that we were gonna put on the table as everyone's doing it.

- Zapa didn't Bring the oil for our fries. luckily Rusi bought it for us even though he's not in business class he was willing to spend 10 bucks for it. We did give him free 2 cups of fries for it.

- what didn't worked well is that it was a hot day.

3 changes that could improve the business activity in the future.

- Keep everything ready and make everything we need to. Like the Poster

- Choose a better team

- Choose a better spot to our sell our Product

Choose two of the strengths and two of your weaknesses that you identified and explain

Strengths:

1. (Everyone cooperated on what their supposed to do.)
- By doing this we were doing a lot better than not doing it. Because if we weren't cooperating on what were gonna do one guy is gonna be like doing all of the stuff like cooking and etc and the other 2 are just doing nothing. Everyone was doing what was assigned to them which was a Good thing.

2. (No one was absent from our team.)
- This was a Good thing cause each one of us had to bring something. If one of us were absent by accident were done and well be doing nothing.

Weaknesses:

1. (We haven't made a poster that we were gonna put on the table as everyone's doing it.)
- We haven't made a Good poster for our table. Luckily weve made a small one, Just a simple Paper and it was still helpful because everyone was asking the price.

2. (what didn't worked well is that it was a hot day.)
- It was a Hot Sunny Day and we were selling hot fries which we could've sell Ice cream of something cold and chill. Luckily everyone still wants our Product.

Math Blog post

As of the weeks we've been in school. At Math Class, we've been doing heaps of learning about Force and Motion, Newton's Three laws about Motion, which basically are:  First Law: Inertia (force is needed to change an object's velocity) Second Law: F = ma. Third Law: Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

Technology and Change

 - During the Stone Age period in history, there were some significant technological advancements.

Some of the inventions during this time were Cave paintings, Axes, weapons.

Cave paintings The earliest known European figurative cave paintings are those of Chauvet Cave in France. These paintings date to earlier than 30,000 BCE (Upper Paleolithic) according to radiocarbon dating. Cave art is significant because it was what people in prehistoric times did in order to record history and culture. But, prehistoric cave art was also significant because it also served as a warning to people who were to come later. Because of this, they could show the way to kill a beast or warn them of a beast.

- During the Stone Age period in history, A significant Invention that is the “Fire” was very useful in the stone age era. They Discovered that heating rocks easier to chip into stone tools. The fire also lets people turn into clay into hardened ceramic pots and vases, useful for carrying and storing food, water, or other items. They also used Fire to burned-out harmful plants because they want to clear obstacles in there campus and create more navigable trails or roads. As a source of warm Fire is really helpful in the stone age because it provided the source of warmth, Protection from Predators a way to create more advanced hunting tools, and a method for cooking food so that their food can be tastier.

- A Significant Invention is seen during the stone age are daggers and spear points for hunting. It is very useful from early as 300,000 BP and 250,000 years ago, wooden spears were made with fire-hardened points. Useful for killing either thrown or thrust an enemy or prey. One of the earliest weapons devised by men and lasted until about 3,300 B.C. when the bronze age began.

- The handaxe is perhaps one of the popular inventions is seen during the Stone age period. It is used for cutting meat and scrapers for cleaning animal hides to chop trees and wood. Used for cutting and scavenging purposes. A hand Axe/Handaxe is a prehistoric stone tool with two faces that is the longest-used tool in human history. It is usually made from flint or chert. It is characteristic of the lower Acheulean and middle Paleolithic (Mousterian) Periods. To make sharp edges on these hand-axes, flaking was used on the hard stone to chip away at it A hand. Through stone tools date back at least 2.6 million years, this tool is around 300,000 years old and was collected between 1883 and 1890.

During the Stone Age, there were many Significant technological advancements Some of the inventions during this time were Fire, Daggers, Pointed Spears, Handaxe. Daggers were very helpful during those times by killing Animals to get food whether it was used to protect themselves from predators, Fire was also used to protect themselves from predators by scaring them, it is also used to be warm at night, at to see in the dark, to cook food, Handaxe used to chop something like a tree, chop woods. These are seen today as re-established and re-manufactured by people and make a business out of it this is also seen today as An Historical Events of what is leftover or what we/ us humans develop skills. These inventions are still relevantly used today whether its survival, camping

Science

In science, we have been learning about how to

calculate speed - Speed is a measure of how far an object can travel in a certain amount of time. We used the formula V(speed)= d (distance) / t (time).

Aerodynamics - As air moves down over the rear wing of the car, it produces a downforce. This downforce helps the car maintain grip when cornering at high speeds.

Mass & Weight - The mass of an object is the amount of matter or "stuff" it contains. The more matter an object contains the Greater its mass.

Friction - Friction is a force that occurs when two materials rub together. Friction always acts to oppose (prevent or stop) the movement of an object. Drag is another name for the friction that occurs when an object moves through a fluid, such as water.

Calculating forces - The amount of force acting on an object can be calculated using its mass and its acceleration. A scientist shows the relationship between force, mass, and acceleration using the formula:

(F net = ma)

Balanced and Unbalanced Forces - Balanced forces are forces that act on an object but cancel each other out because they are the same size and are acting in opposite directions.

Forces, and Motion - In physics, a force is any interaction that, when unopposed, will change the motion of an object.

Yesterday in class we used our learning to investigate Speeding Past School

- As group we present our idea to the teacher. By investigating cars at the side of the road. Measuring Cars Speed passing school. (To convert speed measured in m s-1 o km hr-1 multiply by 3-6)

Calculating 10 Cars and figuring it's speed by: V(speed)= d (distance) / t (time).  (Distance Devided by time)

- Coordination improve to try and accurate, measure and time the cars.

Circuit

A Parallel + Series Circuit with 2 batteries 2 Bulbs and a switch
- If I put switch here, The switch Purpose is Just the same if it's Open The Flow of the Energy won't pass through, If it's Close the Energy can go around the wires.

What is Voltage? How does it differ in series vs parallel
- Voltage is equal to energy per unit charge
In Series Circuit, - the sum of the
Voltage Consumed by each individual
resistance is equal to the source voltage.
     In Series Circuit
- In Parallel Circuit, the voltage across each                                                     ⬇⬇⬇⬇⬇
of the components is the same, and the current                                            ⬇⬇⬇⬇⬇
total is the sum of the currents flowing through                                       ⬇⬇⬇⬇⬇
each component  In Parallel Circuit                                              ⬇⬇⬇⬇⬇
